Sousei No Onmyouji Episode 2 Review
In the Episode 1 of Sousei No Onmyouji we got both the main characters, their ideals, their tragedy and their circumstance and at the end of the episode 1, The main character Rokuro saves Benio from the Impurity (Kegare) she is unable to defeat. After that Rokuro asks her not to talk anyone about the things happened as he don’t want to become onmyouji.
Benio feels annoyed and thinks that why a guy with such power refuses to fight? With annoyed feelings both tell each other their names and goes their separate ways and on returning home Rokuro finds that Benio will be living in his dorm because of which he becomes more annoyed and goes to sleep.
At morning 05 A.M Adashino Benio comes into the room of Enmado Rokuro and wakes him up and asks him to come to Magano and have a competition with him Rokuro simply refuses to go with her. So in the meantime Benio helps other exorcists to defeat a Kegare, While coming home Rokuro sworn brother and best friend Rogyo asks Benio to bring Rokuro back to how he was.
Rokuro mistakely sees Benio inside bath, as he runs away from her to save his life, the head of all exorcists Tsuchimikado Arima come at their place to meet Rokuro and Benio, he orders Rokuro grandfather to assemble the meeting of all exorcists. Once every exorcists is gathered at the meeting destination, Tsuchimikado Arima says that he got a divine pre-motion that the strongest exorcist who will defeat all Kegare and end the Magano forever Miko has finally came. He then calls Adashino Benio to come forward, as Benio was from the reputed clan everyone was respecting her and then he calls Enmado Rokuro to come forward, as expected nobody knew who Rokuro was.
Arima then asks both Benio and Rokuro to compete against each other while Rokuro refuses to do so Benio gets ready for the battle. Armia then makes Rokuro furious by insulting his friends from Hinatsuki dorm as a result Rokuro unleashes his power and attacks Arima but Benio blocks him telling him that she will be his opponent, the two began to fight, and the fight between those to becomes tough but as Rokuro was about to win Arima disables their powers and stops the battle. He apologies Rokuro for insulting his friends and then tells them that they will be known as “Twin Star Exorcists” from now onwards.
Everyone is surprised but after seeing the skills of Rokuro and Benio they have nothing to complaint. While Benio and Rokuro becomes puzzled – that wasn’t this a test to prove who is the strongest exorcist i.e Miko. Arima answers that Miko is born after Twin Star Exorcists unites, meaning you two (Benio and Rokuro) will get married and then will give a birth to child who will be known as Miko and Benio and Rokuro are like “What the heck is this?” and that’s where the episode ends.
The Opinion
Another episode of Sousei No Onmyouji proves that the slight difference in the Anime and Manga is not enough to bring down the major plot of the series. Although by looking at these two episodes a one major difference came to light and that is – Manga has balanced the comedy and seriousness, but Anime is focusing more on seriousness. Compared to Manga that Anime has less comedy, the plot of Sousei No Onmyouji is dark but Manga has toned down the darkness and brought it to 50% while Anime has 60-65% of dark feeling i.e 10-15% greater than Manga.
While it doesn’t really affect the Anime but it goes well along with the slight differences done in the Anime. Which gives you the feeling that your watching a new series. The only down point of the Anime is that i seriously didn’t liked the Adashino Benio’s familiar, He is annoying. Most probably they designed him so he can become a mascot character of the Anime but why did they make him like a pokemon
